Return visits! - 10 May 2012
The choir is delighted to be invited back to two churches we have performed at previously.

The first concert is on Sat 19th May at St John's, Whittle-le-Woods in support of their fundraising campaign.

Later in the year on Sat 6th October we will return to St Cuthbert's, Cheadle to share in their anniversary celebrations.
 
Concert at Christ Church, Woodford raises over £500 for MAF - 11 March 2012
We were really pleased that our concert at Christ Church, Woodford last evening raised over £500 towards the work of the Mission Avation Fellowship, a charity which the church supports. For more details of the work done by MAF visit their website at http://www.maf-uk.org/Home/1.id  

 
MGC and the Manchester leg of the Olympic Torch Relay! - 11 March 2012
We have been invited to take part in the Olympic Torch Relay event. Details have yet to be confirmed but there are talks of us singing on a bus as it travels round the Manchester leg of the relay route on June 24th. Watch this space for more information.

Fantastic news: the evening's concert on Saturday 12th October at St Edward's RC Church, Lees, Oldham featuring the Choir, Margaret Ferguson (soprano) ;and Jonathon Ellis (piano) raised over £800 for CAFOD.

 

 
Two busy weeks! - 15 October 2011

 

The choir has had a busy couple of weeks with three very different performances.

The first was on Saturday 29th September when we travelled to St Paul's Church, Caton, near Lancaster to provide an evening's concert. The very appreciative audience enjoyed a varied programme of songs by the choir and solo items from both Margaret and Jonathon.

On Sunday 2nd October we shared an uplifting evening of worship as the Churches Together in Rossendale filled The Hub, Bacup for their annual Songs of Praise event. Together with the 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Brass Band under the musical direction of Graham Helm we led the large congregation in the singing of hymns old and new. The choir performed a variety of pieces, with solo items from Margaret and Jonathon also.

The following Saturday, 9th October we once again travelled north, this time to St John's Church, Whittle-le-Woods, near Chorley where we had the privilege of being invited to do an evening's concert to launch their fundraising camapign to carry out extensive and much needed renovations to the church.
